My name is Jared Lim, and I am the franchise owner of Colour Craft Painting serving Richmond and Delta. I was born and raised in Richmond, BC, and have been building and leading service-based businesses for over a decade.

After several years leading sales teams and working as a business coach supporting entrepreneurs, I returned to the painting industry with Colour Craft, bringing together my background in the painting industry and my experience building well-run businesses. My focus is delivering a great experience on every project, with clear communication, organized job sites, and a high standard of work from start to finish.

When is the best time to paint the outside of a Richmond or Delta home?
Our exterior painting season runs April through October. July and August are the most reliable months in Richmond, with about six or seven rainy days each, while April and October have about 15, so spring and fall jobs move around the weather more. Tsawwassen gets less rain than most of Metro Vancouver, so jobs there are less likely to be moved for rain.
Do I need a permit to repaint a house in Richmond or Delta?
No. Painting the outside of a house does not need a building permit in Richmond, and the City of Delta treats painting as minor work that does not need a building permit. In Richmond, the exception is the Steveston Village heritage area, where exterior painting can need a Heritage Alteration Permit from the City. If your home is in one of Ladner's two heritage conservation areas, check with the City first, and homes on Tsawwassen First Nation land, such as Tsawwassen Shores, follow Tsawwassen First Nation rules.
How long does a painting job take?

Do I need to move my furniture?
Before we arrive, please move furniture away from the walls and take down pictures, décor and anything fragile or sentimental. We can help with larger pieces. Drop sheets protect your floors and anything that stays in the room, we mask where needed, and we clean up at the end of every day.
Can I stay in my home while you paint?
Yes. We can work room by room, protect your belongings, use low-VOC paints to keep odour down, and clean up at the end of each day so the disruption stays manageable.
What happens if you find rot or damaged wood?
If we find rot or damaged boards, we show you before any painting starts and refer you to a carpenter for the repair.
Do I need to pick colours before I book?
No, you don't need colours picked to book. There is no wrong way to pick a colour. Some clients arrive with a code, some take a photo of a house down the street, some want us to narrow it down with them. On request, we put real paint samples on your wall, so you see each colour in your own light before anything gets painted, and Sherwin-Williams' colour tools can help you narrow it down.
